My review of LP's A THOUSAND SUNS

Stuck in the imagery of an avalanche both destructive as well as divine and innocent, American rock band - Linkin park's "A thousand suns" marks the birth of a new genre of music.With an appealing urge to save the dying and the outburst of anger on the "machined violence" all around the sounds of the album do have a lot to depict and portray.It gives a kind of feeling of fear and conveys a message of warning through songs such as "when they come for me" and "the catalyst"...The titles of the song are too impressive to deny a listen..Be it "fallout" or "burning in the skies", the titles of the song are well chosen and match well with the respective ideas depicted through the song.

                 The album rises with "the requim" and "the radiance" which are the intros to "burning in the skies"...a robotic voice declares "God save us everyone", clearly throwing light on the future of violence and the role of machines in it..it clearly shows the idea that even machines at some time are forced to carry out works and it compells to think of presence of an imaginary conscience and fear in the minds of the machines..with strong lyrics like "I'm swimming in the smoke Of bridges I have burned, So don't apologize I'm losing what I don't deserve" the song "burning in the skies" repents on the loses and separations brought about by man.

             The album takes a meaningful yet "off the LP genre" turn in the song "When they come for me"..it showcases a beautiful fusion of tribal beats with rap and rock..in the backdrop lie strong synth and a bloody tribal environment giving a sense of an orthodox wibe of violence and chaos..but the song does rise to crescendo with the "bollywood-ish" chorus after mike screams "Try to catch up, motherfu****"..

             "Robot boy" doesnt fail to impress with its monotonous yet catchy chorus..talking about a robot, it again lights up the idea of the machine dominated, highly scientific world we would live in..what is an LP album without chester screeming..isnt it?..a taste of LP we have known till date can be expereiced in the song "wretches and kings"..it gives enough room to shout and feel the emotions that the song injects into the listener's mind..

   Reaching down to my personal favourite tracks "iridescent" and "waiting for the end"..surely the most impressive tracks of the album, these songs combine a rare mixture of both special sounds and vintage LP scores..and finally reaching to the last two tracks of the album.."The catalyst" and "The Messenger"...the single "catalyst" released earlier this august gives a sense of bondage that man is in..the lines "Lift me up..let me go" sung by mike is nothin but a plea to let go the pain and come back to a state of peace and harmony..it encases the pain and suffering and guides an imagery of repentance because of the blunders committed by man..on the other hand the song "the messenger" brings in a calm and quite end to the 47 minutes story..acoustic guitar, piano and unmistakable voice of chester bring the album to a close and with it closes the saga of "A THOUSAND SUNS"
